Dr Gloria Phasha

Dr. Gloria Phasha is a Medical Doctor for the South African Department of Defence specializing in Urology; She has made big strides working as a doctor in COVID ICU during the past 2 waves. 


She is a former student activist and WITS SRC member who was part of the Fees Must Fall Movement ; Which succeeded in the fight for free quality education to be legislated in South Africa.


She is also a recipient of the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust Scholarship and graduated as a Medical Doctor in record time at the age of 23. 

Dr. Phasha is also one of the youngest people to be appointed as a Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital Board Member.  In 2020 she was also named as one of the Mail and Guardian Top 200 young professionals.

Charmaine K. Nagel AGA(SA)

Charmaine is a qualified Associate General Accountant, registered with the South African Institute of Charted Accountants (SAICA). She was a recipient of the Siemens Advancement Training Scheme.


With 13 years experience in the Accounting & Finance field, she has worked in audit, engineering and agriculture industries, as well as in philanthropy.


She is a member of the Golden Key International Honour Society. Charmaine is an Allen Grey Orbis Foundation Fellow Mentor.

She is also a trustee and board member of Tobacco Producers Development (Associate of the AFGRI Group).

Itumeleng Mafatshe

Itumeleng Mafatshe is a Development Researcher and Governance Specialist with research interests in Health, Gender, Public Policy, Governance & Administration and Monitoring & Evaluation.


Her academic accolades include a Masters in Political Studies from the University of the Witwatersrand, and a Masters in Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security from the National University of Ireland She has served as the Deputy President of the Wits University Student Representative Council as well as in other structures as a form of service to her community.


Ms. Mafatshe has notable international exposure having worked with women and girls in agriculture in Kenya and Tanzania In 2018 she was also named as one of the Mail and Guardian Top 200 young professionals in the area of Politics and Governance.
